Week 48 by Becky

Glass Bowls

Believe it or not, this is a photo I took while at the same Art Festival as my No Wimpy Girls. I spent the whole time shooting from the hip. I had my camera resting on my hip and would aim my hip in the direction of interest and take a photo. This is a photo of some very small colorful glass bowls. Great art work, but my photo did not do it justice. My friend, Robin, sent out a link to www.sumopaint.com where you can upload your photo and apply a kaleidoscope filter. This is the result. Took an okay photo and made it a piece of art.  My own art. Check out this neat site some time. Enjoy!

Week 42 by Becky

Ford

Went to an Antique car show over the weekend.  I just love old classic cars.  The lines on these beauties are awesome.  Really hard to get full car shots due to the amount of people so I always try to find an angle on the car that looks neat.  They make for wonderful abstracts. I have tons more that I will upload on my other blog soon.

Week 37 by Robin

Liquid Color with Orb

Ha! Becky and I did colorful abstracts this week! I never know what to title abstracts! :) They have art abstract title generators like THIS . It came up with "Unfolding Emotion under Construction" Hehe! Anyway... back to reality...I used my monitor with a colorful iTunes visualizer as a light source and  one of those clear, gel, vase marbles with water on a mirror. I love all the colors and reflections.

Week 34 by Becky

What the ?

Macro of an Orchid. Converted to B/W. To me, this looks like some kind of bat flying at you. What do you see? Played around with my flash on this one. Didn't do a whole lot of processing in Photoshop, except to brighten the face a bit so it would pop.

Week 32 by Becky

Cosmic Glow

Nothing too exciting. Didn't feel like uploading a nature shot or a photo of the test rats. So, I played around with the mirror lock up on my camera and took a close up of my granite counter top that has nice warm creams, browns, yellows and blacks. Ran a couple of Topaz Adjust filters on it to give it a funky look. The filter that gave it the glow in the dark look is the Glow in the Dark filter of Topaz Adjust 5.

Week 29 by Robin

Totally Tubular, Mon!

I was thinking lately about photographers that I admire who create photographs that inspire me to try something similar. Ursula came to mind because she often creates amazing photos from common objects. I tried getting some dandelion seed puffs and mist them, but it made all the fibers clump up. Haha! I tried flowing water with colored lights, but I can't figure out how she manages to get such beautiful water shots. So, I tried straws and came up with this. I cut some straws and taped them on my monitor and ran a colorful screensaver. With a shallow DOF and a slow shutter, you can't see the tape :) It's the best I could come up with.

Week 26 by Becky

CLASSIC ABSTRACT

Had a hard time picking a photo from the many I took. My choices were a photo of my husband, my sister acting goofy during a ping pong game to the many photos I took at the Turkey Run Car/Swap show in Daytona. The car show is one of the biggest in Florida. Major classic car overload. Enjoyed it very much. I have no idea what car this is. Should start writing that down. Anyway, I just loved the lines on this one. Who am I kidding, I loved the lines on many of the cars. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Week 23 by Becky

Ummmm?

Went to Florida Southern College and Tarpon Springs with my photo club. Had a wonderful time. I decided to try to be creative and funky. I laid on the ground underneath an oak tree full of spanish moss hanging down blowing in the breeze. Added a neon glow filter to give it an abstract feel.

Week 13 by Robin

This is a single-blossom hibiscus vase standing up in front of a "groovy" iTunes visualization screen on my old Mac that I just resurrected back to life. Peace, love and happiness!  :)

Week 10 by Becky

IN A HURRY

Macro shot of some potpourri piece I kept to take a photo of. Thought the shape looked interesting. Set up on black velvet with natural front lighting from my home office window. Processed the raw file in Adobe Photoshop CS5, curves, sharpened using high pass filter, noise ninja, Topaz Adjust (spicify) which I reduced the opacity, converted to B/W using Gradient map, resized and saved for web. I think that covers it. I titled it "In A Hurry" because to me it looked like a person who was in a hurry to get someplace.

Week 7 by Robin

I've been trying to get back to my uninhibited, creative side. I lost it a while ago. I always admired photos of oil on water with pretty light and colors so I thought I'd give it a try. I tried for a few days to get something I liked. The first tries were pathetic and out of focus. I finally got some shots tonight that were closer to what I imagined.
