Week 13 by Judy

Soon-to-be Seedlings

These are Desert Rose seeds just as they are when they come out of the seed pod. The seeds are about three inches long and very delicate. If not contained, they are designed to be caught up and dispersed by the wind. They are so weightless, I had to turn the AC off in the house while shooting them because it was blowing them around. I hope to plant these and start another crop of Desert Roses. This will be my second crop. I got seventeen plants from the last seed pod. Shot with 100mm macro; the only editing done was some cropping.

  1. Wow! You have some nice detail on these pods when you bring the image up! Very pretty, delicate and interesting to look at.

It's great that you have a green thumb and can successfully grow things from seed.

  2. Getting into your macro I see. You can tell you used your black velvet. Fantastic. Makes those seeds stand out. They look so delicate.

  3. I agree, the detail is awesome. I love the black background.
