The Dual Portals of the Mysterious Professor Pooka

Happy April Fools Day! Thought I'd do something silly. I found these glasses at the Dollar Store and couldn't wait to use them today. My dear Pooka has always been a good sport about me dressing her up and such. She is 15 years old, almost blind, deaf and senile. She didn't object to me putting these silly glasses on her for a few moments to snap a few photos. I used a very shallow DOF f/1.8 with my cheapo 50mm lens to get the feeling of an old, black and white sci-fi movie. Lighting was natural window light. For editing, mostly Topaz B&W and a bit of dodge and burn.

Bugsy on a Rug

This weekend went so fast and I didn't have time to get creative, although I tried. Seems I always have a few photos of my dogs on every CF card and this week is no exception. Bugsy really misses me now that I am working again and when I come home he doesn't leave my side. Nothing like playing with your dogs to make you forget about everything else for the moment!

Week 22 by Robin

Bugsy Loves Gracie

...and Gracie loves Bugsy. :) Kissy Kissy!.... Actually, he is licking her ears and you can see how she loves it! I was more interested in telling the story, so it's more of a snapshot rather than a work of art :). I mostly used Topaz Adjust and B&W.

My Ever Faithful Model, Lexie

I just could not figure out anything to take a photo of. Saw Lexie laying at the top of the stairs waiting for me to come up. So I was playing around with the ambient light coming in. When I couldn't come up with anything else for the week, I decided to use her. Ran Topaz Adjust and Topaz B/W.

Week 4 by Robin

From the agility competition. For such a little chubster, she really got some height! She looked happy and that's why I liked this photo. I bumped up the ISO (800-3200) to freeze the action at this indoor event. Some of my other shots were OK. I had trouble choosing one for the blog. My computer has been acting up these past few weeks, slowing down and crashing, so everything is taking forever. Sigh...It may be hardware related, but I hope not. Hope you all have a good week!

Week 4 by Judy

Went to a dog agility competition this weekend; didn't get any good pictures of the dogs in action, but took this shot of a 13 week old puppy that was there with her Mom checking out their future competition. Too cute!

Week 3 by Robin

Gracie and Bugsy happily horsing around in the yard.  They move fast, but it was sunny and it was easy to freeze the action. I had fun with the processing.
